Introduction
DrivePrep NZ ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App. We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect your name, email address or contact details in the App.
Information We Collect
Local data storage
The App stores the following data locally on your device:
- Your practice session history and answers
- Mock test results and scores
- Bookmarked questions
- Progress statistics and accuracy metrics
- Your settings, such as which test you are practising for
This data stays on your device. It is not sent to our servers or to any third party.
Third-Party Services
Advertising (free version)
The free version of the App shows advertisements from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data such as device identifiers, IP address and usage information to serve and measure ads. If you are in a region that requires consent, the App asks for it using Google's consent form. On iOS, the App also asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before your device's advertising identifier can be used. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be less personalised. You can change your choice at any time in your iPhone's Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking. Google's Privacy Policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Premium users don't see ads.
Paywall services and analytics
The App uses Superwall to present and measure paywalls and onboarding. Superwall receives a persistent anonymous app user ID, device and app details, paywall interactions, onboarding step views, whether you answer the sample question, onboarding completion, and premium subscription status. Onboarding events include only the step number and milestone; your selected answer, practice history and test scores are not sent. The App also sends simple premium access attributes (free, lifetime or subscription) for paywall targeting. We do not send your name or email to Superwall. In-app purchases
If you buy Premium, your payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment details. Apple's Privacy Policy is at apple.com/nz/legal/privacy.
Data Security
Your practice history, test scores, bookmarks and progress statistics stay on your device and are not sent to our servers or to Superwall. Superwall receives the anonymous app and device information, premium status, paywall interactions and onboarding milestones described above. Google AdMob may collect advertising data as described in the Advertising section.
Children's Privacy
The App is designed for people preparing for the New Zealand learner licence theory test, which you can sit from age 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the App's local storage does not require or collect personally identifying information.
Your Choices
- Delete your progress: open Settings (the gear on the home screen) and tap Reset Progress to clear your practice history and mock test results for the selected test.
- Ad tracking: turn tracking off for the App in your iPhone's Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Uninstall: deleting the App permanently removes all data stored on your device.
Because we don't hold personal information about you on our own systems, there is usually nothing for us to access or correct. If you have a question about your information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, please contact us using the details below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

DrivePrep NZ is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi or any government agency.
